Why should I use a fuel additive?
Since the introduction of low sulphur fuel in the mid-nineties, we've seen a dramatic increase in internal wear in injection pump and injectors. We feel this is causing premature failure of these components. Certain additives restore the lost lubrication to the fuel. Not only will these additives extend the life of your injection pump or injectors, but testing has proven enhanced fuel economy, added horse power and reduced emission. Winter additive will lower the pour point significantly - a great benefit with our cold winters!

Does it matter what brand of additive I use?
Not all additives are the same. Some are even detrimental to your fuel system. For pick-up trucks and cars, we recommend Stanadyne Performance Formula. For bulk treatment we recommend CEN-PE-CO fuel additive. Please check with us for your fuel conditioning needs.

Can I use ATF (automatic transmission fluid) as a lubricant in my fuel?
Since October 1993, some diesel end-users have tried adding automatic transmission fluid (ATF) to diesel fuel to improve the fuel's lubricity. According to the U.S. Army's quarterly fuel and lubricant bulletin (March 1994), laboratory testing using the Ball-on-cylinder lubricity evaluation (BOCLE) had shown that the addition of ATF to a low sulfur fuel does not improve the fuel's lubricity rating. Moreover, the presence of ATF in fuel can adversely affect other performance properties of diesel fuel.

What should I use for oil in my diesel engine?
We carry what we feel is the best engine oil on the market today - CEN-PE-CO (Central Petroleum Company) lubricants.

CEN-PE-CO S-3 engine oil SAE 15W-40 is a superior high detergent 100% pure paraffin base, 14 TBN oil for trucks. It provides true extended drain protection, less downtime, up to 50% longer engine life, up to 3.5% better fuel economy, and reduced oil consumption over the engine's life. Meets or exceeds all API ratings.

CEN-PE-CO Para-synthetic oil SAE 15W-40 is a high performance synthetic/paraffin base oil combination designed for heavy-duty use in all sizes of diesel and gasoline engines. CEN-PE-CO Para-synthetic oil combines all of the benefits of its 100% pure paraffin base CEN-PE-CO S-3 oil with the cold weather startability of synthetic oil.

Outstanding features and benefits include:
     • Up to 50% longer engine life.
     • Reduces heat, wear and deposits.
     • Fortified with an exclusive LDA additive package for extended drain protection.
     • Very low pour point for easier cold weather starts.
     • Reduced oil consumption over the equipment life.
     • Improves cold temperature lubrication.
     • TBN - 14

Do performance upgrades void my warranty?
Please read the Magnuson-Moss warranty act below, which states that the vehicle manufacturer cannot deny warranty on the use of an aftermarket part alone. They must prove the aftermarket part caused the damage being claimed under the warranty.

THE MAGNUSON-MOSS WARRANTY ACT (15 U.S.C. 2303©)
"The federal law regulates warranties for the protection of consumers. The essence of the law concerning aftermarket auto parts is that a vehicle manufacturer may not condition a written or implied warranty on the consumers using parts or services which are identified by brand, trade, or corporate name (such as the vehicle maker's brand) unless the parts or service are provided free of charge. The law means that the use of an aftermarket part alone is not cause for denying the warranty. However, the law's protection does not extend to aftermarket parts in situations where such parts actually caused the damage being claimed under the warranty. Further consumers are advised to be aware of any specific terms or conditions stated in the warranty which may result in its being voided. The law states in relevant part:

No warrantor of a consumer product may condition his written or implied warranty of such product on the consumers using, in connection with such product, any article or service (other than article or service provided without charge under the terms of the warranty) which is identified by brand, trade or corporate name… (15 U.S.C. 2303(C)"

Do you rebuild turbos?
No, we have found with the availability of reman and new turbos, and the pricing we are able to provide you the customer makes it much more cost effective to purchase them. On certain applications we can sell you a brand new turbo for less than others will sell you a reman. Please check with us for all your turbo needs.

Do you test gasoline injectors?
Yes. You bring the injectors to us whether they are multi-port, throttle body, or vortec. With the vortec injectors we need them in the black box they are in with the lines coming out of them as one unit. In most cases we can save them with continued flushing in our injector cleaning machine. Please give us a call with any question you have.
